BIO

ANNETTE DYON

Annette Dyon is a Canadian painter whose work spans decades of exploration into form, figure, and landscape. A graduate with distinction from the University of Guelph (Honours B.A. Fine Art) and trained as an art and elementary educator through the University of Toronto, Dyon has cultivated a practice that bridges technical mastery with imaginative interpretation.

Her career has been marked by a significant exhibition history, from early showings in Toronto’s Nancy Poole Studio and the Arcadia Gallery in the 1980s, to more recent solo exhibitions such as A Selection of Paintings (Side Door Gallery, Georgetown, 2017) and Mostly Mannequins (Whitestone Gallery, Guelph, 2008). Her signature Mannequins series has appeared in Toronto, Guelph, and beyond, examining the boundary between object and subject with striking immediacy.

Over the years, Dyon’s paintings have been featured in many group exhibitions across Ontario, including at the Art Gallery of Guelph, Wellington County Museum, Elora Centre for the Arts, and Propeller Gallery in Toronto. She has participated in many of the Hills of Erin Studio tours from her farm studio in Hillsburgh, Ontario. Her work has toured nationally through the Niagara Artists Centre and been included in juried and catalogued exhibitions.

Whether painting abstracts, landscapes or figures, Annette Dyon brings passion, technical expertise and originality to her canvas.
